Lower 9 Fest Countdown - 3 days!!!

It's been a year and a half in the making, but the First Annual Lower 9 Fest is only 3 days away!

As of this morning, we have 50+ community resources organizations offering health screenings, passing out information, doing activities. We have a HUGE kids' zone sponsored by Aetna, including bounce houses, a build-a-bear station, slime making, and art projects. The L9EDD Village features 35 local food, clothing, jewelry and art vendors who will be selling their merchandaise. Festival participants will also enjoy 4 hours of incredible music, including our very own L9WHA board president Tonya Boyd-Cannon (pictured above).

Everything kicks off at noon with a second-line parade led by Stooges Brass Band, Lower 9th Ward community leaders, 2022 King and Queen of Zulu, and all of our city and state elected officials.
