About the event
The Lower 9th Ward Homeownership Association (L9WHA) and Lower 9 Neighborhood Association (L9NA) proudly present the 2nd Annual Lower 9 Fest, sponsored by a host of local businesses and organizations. The free festival will take place Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 11:00am - 6:00pm at Oliver Bush Playground located at 2500 Fats Domino Ave., New Orleans, LA. The first-time festival will feature live music, food trucks, activities for kids, car show, and a resource fair facilitated by community organizations and businesses that support the historical Lower 9 community.
The festival will feature an array of local cuisine from local food truck vendors to allow participants to sample the tastes of New Orleans. There will also be musical performances and appearances by local musicians. The event will kick off with a second line with the The Original CTC Steppers, Stooges Brass Band and community leaders.
